Black Color Varco Parts Top Drive Saver Sub 6 5/8 REG
Product Introduction
Saver Sub is used to extend the life of the Kelly by taking the connection wear each time it is make-up to a drill stem component. The saver sub connection is sacrificed because it can be easily repaired or inexpensively replaced. The saver sub can be equipped with a rubber protector to reduce BOP equipment and casing wear resulting from contact damage with a lower Kelly connection.
Saver Subs for Top Drive is a crossover sub which is connected between IBOP for Top Drive and lower drill pipe. The structure of the sub is whole, which is produced with modified alloy steel, and after the special heat treatment process to achieve the desired hardness and strength and impact resistance.

Top drive saver subs are stocked or manufactured to our customers request, based on API requirements.The top drive sub serves as the sacrificial element between the drill string and the tope drive, reducing any unwanted repair and maintenance costs.
