API Oil Fishing Tools Die Collar and Taper Tap
Product Overview
Taper tap is an internal catch fishing tool designed to retrieve tubular members from the well bore. It is the most economical tool of its kind for freeing fish. The taper tap is manufactured from high alloy steel and special heat treated. Left hand threads are also available on request at no extra charge.
The tool are used go engage the outside diameter of a fish, usually in situations where conventional releasing overshots would not be a feasible option. They are designed to tap threads into the steel so that the fish can be retrieved or the fishing job can be continued.

The die collar, also known as skirted taper tap, is a special external fishing tool that engages with the dropped tubular objects such as drill pipes and oil tubing, by tapping on the external wall of the objects. It can be used in fishing cylindrical objects without inner bore or stuck inner bore.
When the hole size is considerably larger than the diameter of the fish, a guide can be assemble to the bottom of the die collar.
